Scientific name : Camelus dromedarius x Lama glama
Family : Camelidae
Native to : Saudi Arabia
Interesting fact : Does not have a hump like a camel.
Conservation status : Domesticated
The cama was born in 1998, in Dubai, a cross between a male camel and a llama. The reason to create a hybrid was to ensure higher productivity of wool, when compared to the llama. It has the size and stamina of a camel, without the trademark hump. They number less than ten, as natural breeding methods cannot be adopted.
