Actually, the art of preparing map is known as cartography and the person who prepares a map is known as cartographer. For preparing any map; a cartographer has to produce a lot of handiwork efficiency to translate it into an actual picture. Also he should have knowledge of maintenance of numerals and raw material. Critical knowledge of techniques and principals is an additional qualification of a talented and efficient cartographer. All men and women interested in cartography should have patience, could do hard work, and continuous practice with determination. Cartography work goes on for hours and hours together. In such a situation only person with patience and the one who is hard working would be successful in cartography.

Therefore, people with strong determination are comparatively more successful in this field. Apparatus used in the cartography should be of high quality in order to maintain the quality in work.
Trained cartographers can get work in different government and non-government fields. Any trained person can get job as a cartographer in Survey of India, Weather Department, Investigation Institute, Publishing Houses, News papers, and News Graphic Agencies.
After connecting cartography with the computer, working in this field has even become more easy. Some of the computer institutes in the country offers Diploma in Cartography. For admission in this course minimum eligibility is M.Sc. in geography. A trained cartographer can also earn fame and money as a freelancer.
