Charlie loved his garden. He wanted to learn about every plant in his garden. He would watch the gardener tending to plants every day. He wanted to work in the garden. One day, Charlie asked the gardener, “What are you planting?” “A rose plant,” replied the gardener. Soon, small shoots sprouted. Charlie was excited. He watched those shoots and danced in joy. Every morning he would examine the plant to see how much it had grown. Every time it had grown a little. ‘So, it grows at night. I will keep a watch,’ thought Charlie. That night, he opened his window and looked, but he could not see anything, and soon fell asleep. The next morning, to his surprise, he saw a small bud on the plant. The gardener explained, “A plant grows slowly, but steadily, just like us!” Charlie was thrilled, and started helping in the garden every day.
