Their tails help them steer and turn while running. They have distinctive ‘tear marks’ on their faces and they are the only members of the feline family with semi retractable claws. The range of the cheetah has shrunk visibly, showing a significant decrease of about 30% over the past two decades. Almost 50% to 75% cubs die before reaching adulthood.
