Growing to about 3.2 inches in length, the name for these bugs originated from the Spanish word ‘Cucaracha’ which basically means ‘crazy bug’. Cockroaches reside in dark nooks and corners and shun the light. They are infamous for escaping when cornered. A female cockroach can stay fertilized throughout her life and produces up to 50 eggs at a time. The lifespan of a cockroach is 2 to 4 years.
