Mike was a simpleton but he was known for his common sense in his village. If the villagers faced any problems, they went to Mike for advice or suggestions. One night, there was a terrible storm in Mike’s village. A huge rock rolled down from the nearby hill and fell over the village well. The next morning, all the villagers assembled near the well. Many strong men tried their best but they could not move the rock. Then, someone called Mike for help. “Mike, please help us as we are very troubled. You know that this well is the only source of water for us,” said the village headman. Mike asked for a strong, long stick. Using the stick as a lever, he lifted the rock off the well. The village headman said, “Mike has taught us that one can overcome any obstacle if one uses one’s common sense along with one’s strength.” Everyone clapped for Mike.
