A conch is a group of sea snails of about 50 species. They inhabit sandy bottoms among the bed of sea grass in tropical waters. Their spiral shells are right-handed and come in white, brown, orange and pink colours. They feed on algae. Eggs are laid in long, twisted gelatinous tubes. Their lifespan is 20-30 years.
