The Copper Canyon is a group of 6 distinctive canyons with copper/green colour walls. It is located in the Chihuahua state, Mexico. According to tribal legends, the Copper Canyon was formed a 100 to 45 million years ago.
Why it is special: Larger and deeper in portions than the Grand Canyon on Arizona, the Copper Canyon is home to 23 species of pine and 200 species of oak trees. This Canyon is also home to the Rarámuri tribe who reside in the more isolated and cooler regions.
