With the exception of a few families, damselflies are similar in appearance to the dragonfly, but much smaller. Most families have sexual dimorphism. Their habitat may vary but all families of damselflies require water-bodies or wetlands in their environment so as to breed. Their diet includes flies, mosquitoes and other insects. They are also known to have elaborate courtship rituals which show off the male’s characteristics.
