Dark Hedges is a road lined with the rows of beech trees situated near the village of Armoy, in Northern Ireland. Planted in the 18th century by the Stuart Family, the beech trees were meant to add an aura of awe to the entrance of their Georgian Mansion. The trees have, however, grown in their own wayward ways. Two centuries later, the trees lining the road provide a tunnel of intertwined branches with the road stretching endlessly. This avenue has gained further popularity as a tourist destination since scenes for the popular Television show ‘Game of Thrones’ were shot here.
