DEEPAWALI

Deepawali is also called the festival of lights. It literally means rows of earthen lamps. On this day, Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after killing Ravana, the demon-king of Lanka. People and children make merry on this day. Gifts and sweets are exchanged. Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh are worshipped on the night of Deepawali. Young and old alike let off crackers to celebrate this festival.
