The next day, he locked himself in his room. He did not come out at all. He did not eat anything nor did he drink anything. Gandharvasen’s health was affected. His poor parents could not understand what was happening. But he did not tell them anything. They called the doctor but he too gave up as he was not able to identify his illness. Since he did not confide in them, they, at last, called Dev Datta. He was a close friend of Gandharvasen. Dev Datta came there immediately. He was worried to see his friend’s sad form. He convinced Gandharvasen to tell him all. Gandharvasen told Dev Datta about his new-found love. Gandharvasen told him that he wanted to marry her. Dev Datta asked his friend to be patient. Then he went away. He visited the girl’s house. He spoke to the parents of the girl.
