It is a herbaceous perennial plant. The name Doll’s Eye originates from its white spherical berries with black dots on the tip. The flowers are in oblong clusters on thick, red stalks. The leaflets have sharp teeth. Its leaves are twice-divided. The fruits present from May through October. The entire plant is poisonous to mankind and has been ranked as one of the top ten most deadly plants in the US. Strangely, the berries are said to be harmless to birds.
