Duryodhana held a great sacrifice, but could not hold a Rajasuya Yajna while his father and Yudhishthira were still alive. People compared his sacrifice with other sacrifices and said that it was not so magnificent as the one held by Yudhishthira. This angered Duryodhana. He found himself having bad dreams and seeing the omens of bad luck for the future. Karna promised to kill Arjuna. One day, Sage Durvasa, renowned for his fiery temper and for getting angry easily, came to Hastinapura with ten thousand disciples. Duryodhana made sure that everything was done right, because he did not wish to anger the sage in any way. When he found the sage was pleased with all the arrangements, Duryodhana’s wicked nature once again awoke. He suggested that Sage Durvasa should visit the Pandavas in the forest. He thought the Pandavas would fail in some way and the wrath of the sage would harm them.
