Dussehra is a famous festival. On this day Lord Rama killed Ravana, the king of Lanka. Ravana had kidnapped Rama’s wife, Sita. Dussehra is celebrated as the symbol of the victory of good over evil. We celebrate Dussehra to remember the importance of being good and honest. On Dussehra the huge effigies of Ravana, his brother Kumbhkarna and son Meghnath are set on fire after sunset. The effigies are stuffed with crackers. They burst as they catch fire. There is a big fair outside the Ramlila ground. People buy toys and crackers from the fair. Everybody enjoys the festival of Dussehra.
