Eguisheim

Eguisheim

Eguisheim is a picturesque commune located in Grand Est in Northeastern France. The birthplace of winegrowing in Alsace, Eguisheim also happens to be the birthplace of Pope Leo IX. The town itself is beautiful to say the least. With cobbled streets lined with medieval half-timbered houses that are brightly painted, the charming Eguisheim is listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France. Overflowing with fountains and flowers, the village is the recipient for the highest awards given to a town for garden planting.
