Emma was not at all like other elephants. All day, her family would wallow in the muddy pool but she would stand in the rain and enjoy the water trickling down her skin. “Come, Emma. This mud is warm like chocolate,” her brother would call. But Emma did not go. Her favourite pastime was trying to float on the big lotus leaves in the pond. But alas! She would always sink down like a stone. But Emma never gave up trying. In the pond lived her friends, the two frogs. They helped her and after lots of hard practice, Emma finally learnt to float. “Hey look! I am floating!” She shouted one day. A photographer saw her. He said, “Why don’t you come to my country? There are snow-covered mountains, you would love it.” Emma flew with him in an aeroplane. The people loved Emma and came to watch her skiing. They even awarded her a gold medal. When Emma returned to her pond, she showed her gold medal to her frog friends. “Emma is a famous elephant!” said everyone.
