Once, there stood an old church high up on a hill. The church attracted people from nearby places. A visit to the church made them peaceful in heart and mind. The visitors prayed at the church and heard the pastor’s sermons. There hung a bell outside the Church. The bell chimed melodiously every day. Every day when it was time for the sun to rest and for the moon to rise, the pastor of the church would ring the bell. The bell hated when it was rung. The bell did not like to be disturbed. He complained to the pastor. The pastor explained, “Everything has its purpose and yours is to let the people of the nearby town know it’s time for them to go home and rest. Hearing you, children know that their parents will come home soon. Your sound brings happiness to many.” Now the bell knew its purpose and never complained again.
