For days together, David and his men marched endlessly. On the way back to Ziklag, when they saw smoke arising from the city, and when they reached the place they found no one on the road. Also, no one came to greet them, as well. When his men saw all the families dead, they were angry and full of despair. They no longer believed in him, and thought he was incapable of becoming a leader, and wanted to pelt stones at him. Sad David asked Abiarthar to speak to God and relate His instructions to him. God asked him to follow the raiders, and David asked his men to do so. They set out, but were very tired. So David asked them to wait behind, while he could find the details of the raiders.
