What about?” asked Hefty, thoroughly puzzled. “The King was so fond of you,” said Damanaka, “But his heart has changed.” “What do you mean, changed?” asked Hefty. “The king is against you, Hefty,” continued Damanaka, “He wants to kill you and eat you up. I should not tell you this, but, after all, I was the one who introduced you. So I am worried,” he confessed. This made Hefty feel very sad and he wondered, “I have always been loyal to the king. Why should he have turned against me so suddenly?” “There is no way to satisfy someone who hates you without any reason,” commented the tricky Damanaka, “If there was a reason, we could do something about it. But kings are strange. They will forget all the good you have done and get against you for a very small thing.”
