Robert was addicted to watching TV day and night. It was clear that watching television had become a full-blown addiction for him. He spent most of his time watching television. It had a bad effect on his health and eyes but he didn’t even try to change his bad habit. His parents scolded him many a time for watching television but he always ignored them. He was so eager to return to the telly that he never finished his food. One morning, Robert found a gift box outside his house and a paper with his name written on it. Robert opened the box and found special spectacles, along with a piece of paper saying, “With these spectacles you will be able to see time.” The boy didn’t understand anything, so he put on the glasses. He then looked at his brother, John. Robert saw a massive pile of flowers on his head and the flowers were falling down on the marble floor and disappearing, one by one.
Robert went to his grandfather. This time, he saw a small pile of flowers on top of his head. Still, Robert did not understand anything. But whenever he looked at anyone through his glasses, the same thing happened every time. After some time, he noticed that older persons had small piles of flowers on their heads, while younger persons had enormous piles of flowers on their heads. Finally, Robert understood that the pile gained or lost flowers according to a person’s behaviour. The next day, when Robert was watching television, he put on his glasses. He was shocked to see his own pile of flowers that was constantly going into the television-screen. The television-screen had an enormous mouth and it was gobbling up all the flowers.
Now, wherever Robert went, he saw wild-looking television-screens devouring flowers. He was too scared and decided that he would never waste his precious time on watching television.
