You will need:
- Camera
- Image-editing software (should be able to cut and flip images)
- Computer
The left side and the right side of your face are not identical. See the difference by following this experiment.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Take close-up photographs of your friend’s face. Be careful that the photographs taken are not looking off to sides.
- Copy the photos onto an image-editing software on your computer.
- Slice the image vertically in half, so that the face is cut in exactly half.
- Copy one half (the right side) of the image and keep aside.
- Now flip the half which is still on the screen horizontally (the left side); duplicate it and piece the flipped duplicate with the original left half.
- Do the same for the right-side image.
- Compare the 2 new images you have.
RESULT
The two images will not be the same. There will be differences in the two new images. There are various studies which link the symmetry of the face with higher intelligence as also more evolved genes. However, various external environmental factors and stressors can also contribute to changes in the appearance of the left and right sides of your face.
