Family tree

On December 28, 1932 a son was born to Hirachand Gowardhan Das Ambani who was named ‘Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani.’ The father had no idea that his fourth child would make the name of the family ‘Ambani’ a most familiar word of the Indian corporate word that would figure in the international financial and business magazines like ‘Fortune’ and ‘Forbes’. The name later got shortened to Dhirubhai Ambani. It was very appropriate because the person of that name was very impatient and did not like wastage of time. The earlier full name took too much time in getting pronounced. When he arrived he had a brother and two sisters. One brother came after him. Thus, they were three brothers and two sisters.

The eldest sister Trilochana was married to Lalloobhai Meswani. They produced a son called Rasiklal Meswani who got married to Rajniben. They were blessed with two children Nikhil and Hetal. Thus, Trilochana is grandma of Nikhil and Hetal.
Elder brother Ramniklal Ambani married Padmaben. A son and threee daughters were born to them. The son is named Vimal and the daughters Neeta, Ila and Meena. Another sister Jasumati married C. Patel. Four sons were beorn to them namely Viren, Atul, Vimal and Manish. Youngest brother Natwarlal was married to Smitaben. They produced two sons and two daughters. Vipul and Neeraj are the sons. The daughters are Anita and Tina. Thus, Ambanis are a large family.

dear ones of the family

Our subject Dhirubhai Ambani himself married Kokilaben. They say that behind every successful man stands a woman. We can take for sure that Kokilaben had contributed to the success of her husband Dhirubhai. She always trusted her husband. Throughout their married lives there never was any scandal attached to them. They were married early in their lives. Kokilaben went to Aden with Dhirubhai and their eldest son Mukesh was infact born in Aden.
The eldest son Mukesh was born in 1957. The other three children were born in India namely Deepti (1958), Anil (1959) and Neeta (1961).

The eldest Mukesh Ambani was married to Neeta, well edu-cated girl from a prosperous and high family. They were blessed with two sons and a daughter. The sons are Akash and Anant. With his sons, their wives and Kokilaben

Kokilaben sits atop broods of her children merrily playing the role of ‘Grandma’ popularly called ‘Mummy’ by the young members. She is dedicated to traditional values and culture. Very religious by nature she is. Inspite of her husband Dhirubhai becoming the richest man of the land the equation between them never changed. Kokilaben never put on the air of being the wife of the wealthiest man and paraded no riches. It all just means the sweet success of her husband and the pride attached

to that fact. Nothing more. Entire family and the members of extended families greatly respect her. She continues on with her religious activities and ties. Kokilaben maintains the same old relationship with her old relatives, aquaintances and ex-neighbours. Her changing economic status made no difference to her social life.

But the other ladies of Ambani family are adequately modern. Neeta and Tina are well educated and have modern outlook and mindset. Both of them are stars in any social event they take part in. Tina has been the heroine of many box office hits and is a very popular face. Neeta and Tina both can be seen gracing scenes by the sides of their respective husbands whenever in public they are. Both are involved in social activities. For her 2007 birthday Mukesh presented to his wife Neeta a 265 crore luxury jet aircraft. You can well imagine how the legacy of Dhirubhai Ambani is progressing and making newer and newer waves even after his death.
