Fiddler stingrays live in the shallow waters of sandy bays, rocky reefs and seagrass beds at depths of 120-180 metres. They are brown with geometric black or brown markings and venomous tail spines. They eat shellfish, crabs and worms at the bottom of the ocean by crushing with their jaws. These ovoviviparous creatures give birth to litters of 4-6.
