Five Flower Lake is a beautiful lake located in the Jiuzhai valley, in China. Pride of the Jiuzhai valley, this incredible lake is considered a holy lake amongst the locals. Only 5 metres in depth, the lake is vividly coloured because of the calcium carbonate and hydrophytes present in the water, making its colours range from azure blue to blackish green and even light yellow. A unique feature of the lake is the pattern of a ‘Deer’s leg’ in the centre made by tree branches in the water. The richly coloured underwater landscape can easily be seen thanks to the bright and clear waters of the lake.
