The flamingo tongue snail is a small, brightly coloured sea snail living on corals. The shell is covered by live, bright orange-yellow mantle tissue with black markings. When attacked, the mantle flaps retract exposing the shell. They are ectoparasites of corals and feed by scraping the polyps off the coral. Their lifespan is 2 years.
