Interesting fact : Unlike most other living creatures, the flatworms are invertebrates, which have no specialized respiratory organs; nor do they have more than 1 digestive cavity.
They can only take in oxygen through the process of diffusion. Their habitat can vary from water-bodies to terrestrial regions, where they reside in leaf litter. What’s more? Because of the single digestive cavity, most flatworms have to regurgitate the food they have taken in. The earliest known flatworm fossil has been dated to 270 million years ago.
