Albrecht von Goertz is the person credited with the invention of food processor but there were many before him who used some kind of machines for kitchen utility. In 1946, a German company Electrostar used a crude food processor for mixing and blending of different foods and they called it Starmix. There were different accessories. More than that different use could be done with this device—slicing, ice cream bowls and milk centrifuge. Even some of the companies at that time invented food processor with motors for vacuum cleaners. Similar device was made in France by Pierre Verdun in the middle part of the twentieth century. This was much easier a device and could perform only some nominal work compared to Starmix. The company later converted into advanced food processor makers by applying the same idea and improving on it. In the later part of 1970s, the device was made international and many companies imitated the technology to make their own improvements.
