Matt and his friends played football. Every weekend, they would assemble in the ground to play the game of football for hours. But they did not like the rainy season because they could not play football in rain. The rain showers sprayed down on the ground. Matt and the boys looked on in annoyance as they packed up their football kits. ‘Another Saturday wasted!’ they thought. The boys were about to go, when they heard a squishing sound on the football ground. It was Maher, a poor boy from their neighbourhood. He always watched them play but never joined in. As the boys looked on, Maher tossed the ball; his legs sloshed and splashed in the water. Matt said, “It looks like fun! Let’s join him.” Soon, they all joined Maher. After a fun-filled time, they all thanked Maher for showing them that football could be fun in the rain, too.
