Fortune Favours the Brave

The history of any good society or community is full with the deeds of great and brave men. The biographies of these brave men illustrate many facts of their life. They were victims of countless hardships and agonies. But it was their passion to achieve what they dreamt of, which provided them the strength to bear all those hardships and vision to prove the people that what they thought was not wrong.
The living legend Dr Nelson Mandela’s life completely suits to this proverb. His relentless struggle for about 27 years against the ‘apartheid’ bore fruit at the end. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for his activities against the white. But the brave-hearted man did not budge an inch from the jail and declared all discriminatory activities against the Blacks a punishable act.
To lead a simple life on this earth is a simple thing for any creature including human being. But to lead a worthwhile life needs courage and fearlessness. One should always recall the sentences, “Success is never final, failure is never fatal.” It is courage that counts, and hope that remains. Hillary and Tenzing would not have climbed over Mount Everest if they had not strived for it. A man who dares to climb over something may fall from it. So failure is an integral part of success. There are very few instances when people attained something without a single failure.
Vocabulary
