The foxface lives in coral-rich areas feeding on macroalgae and zooplankton. It is bright yellow-coloured with black-and-white markings on the front of its body, growing to a size of up to 25 cm. It has a venomous spine on its dorsal, pectoral and anal fins which it stabs its predators with. Its lifespan is 8-12 years.
