Friday Night Feast

On Friday, when the sun went down and the moon rose up, Hatim Tai saw magic unfold in front of him! All the statues in the cave came alive. The horsemen were dressed in magnificently rich armours, with robes too splendid to describe. They all sat on elegant thrones. In front of them were tables laid with feast fit for kings. One amidst them was dressed like a beggar, covered in dust. His table had food of the lowest quality. When all horsemen enjoyed their feast and drinks in pleasant comradeship, the beggar-looking man went around sighing loudly, “I have done nothing which can benefit me this night.” None of the horsemen paid much attention to the wretched beggar, as if he did not exist. On seeing Hatim they invited him to join their feast. As soon as the first ray of the sun hit the earth, everything became lifeless. Hatim had to wait for another week to get his answers.
