Living an environmentally conscious life often means getting creative with what you already have at home. Show your teen how to live green by transforming old CD cases into drawer dividers. Not only are you reusing old things that normally go in the trash, but also you’re helping your teen get organized in the process.
What You Need:
❑ 2 empty CD cases
❑ Heavy duty glue
❑ Thick ribbon
What You Do:
- Start by having your child open the CD cases, so they form 90 degrees angles.
- Place a large dot of glue into the joints of the cases (where the flaps meet) and let dry.
- Make him put the two cases together, so they form a box, then glue the edges together. Let dry.
- Now cover the cases with ribbon to give them a softer texture. Help him wrap the ribbon around the cases, letting the edges of the ribbon overlap slightly, gluing in place he goes.
- Let the glue dry.
Place the CD box in your teen’s drawer and show him how it works as a divider. To get really
organized, make multiple CD case dividers in different colours and sizes. To make a larger box, use 4 CD cases instead of 2.
