Interesting fact : The largest of the tettigoniidae family, the giant katydid’s appearance resembles that of a large leaf.
With an average size of 4-6 cm in length, many in this species grow as big as 15 cm in length. Their long legs and general size are a bit frightening but in reality they are extremely gentle creatures. Being nocturnal creatures, their diet is comprised of plants and fresh leaves. They are extremely still in the day and avoid light, feeding only when it is dark. The female can lay up to 100 eggs in one batch, which are laid in a long string on a branch. It takes the eggs 4 to 60 days to hatch.
