Jehovah wanted to test the loyalty of Abraham and asked him to do something that no father would ever want to do. He asked him to take his only son Isaac, whom he loved the most, to a far-off land in Moriah. Jehovah asked him to offer his son as a burnt offering on a specific mountain he would mention. As ordered, Abraham woke up early in the morning and saddled his ass and started off to the land with his servants and son. He also collected the wood that was required for the burnt offerings. When he neared the place, he instructed his servants to stay away with his ass and moved ahead with his son. He said, “Once we have worshipped the Lord, we shall return back.”
