Moses asked the people of the region to be pious by washing all their dirty clothes and to stay away from their wives. All of a sudden, there were deep dark clouds which surrounded the sky and there was a heavy rainfall with very vigorous thunderstorm. Everyone trembled at the tremendous sound. Moses called everybody at the foot of Mount Sinai. There was a lot of smoke visible as the entire Mount Sinai was set into fire by God. God asked Moses to come on top of the mountain and meet Him. The Lord asked Moses to bring all people to the top of Mt. Sinai by gazing at the smoke. Moses mentioned that they would not be able to come to the top. Then the Lord asked Moses to go own and bring Aaron along with him to the top of Mt. Sinai. Finally Moses climbed down Mt. Sinai and declared God’s verdict to the crowd.
