The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon carved by River Colorado. It is located in Arizona, United States of America. It began to form about 17 million years ago.

Why it is special: The Grand Canyon has a length of 277 miles and a width of 18 miles. Almost a mile deep, River Colorado established its course through the area gradually deepening and widening the canyon. Native Americans have inhabited the Grand Canyon for thousands of years. One of the world’s seven natural wonders, the Grand Canyon contains such immense beauty and grandiose that no picture can do it justice. Once you see the place, you cannot take your eyes off the vista.
