Great-Ocean-Road

The Great Ocean Road is a 243-km long stretch of road that is an Australian National Heritage. The Great Ocean Road runs along the southeastern coast of Australia, between Torquay and Allansford. It was built between 1919 and 1932.

Why it is special: This road was built by the returned soldiers as a dedication to the soldiers who lost their lives in World War-I; it is also the world’s largest war memorial. The road is a popular tourist attraction and winds through beautiful terrains and landmarks including the limestone formations known as the 12 Apostles.
