Common name : Pizzly bear, Prizzly bear, Polar grizz
Scientific name : Ursus arctor x Ursus manitimus
Family : Ursidae
Native to : Canadian Arctic
Interesting fact : Grolar bears are a rare hybrid of the grizzle bear and the polar bear.
Their physical traits are generally a mix of the grizzly bear and the polar bear. It is believed that grizzly bears may be driven to mate polar bears as they are being driven from their natural habitat towards the Arctic, in order to adapt to the new environment. Their presence was confirmed in 2006, and they have since been spotted occasionally.
