Adam was very excited. He and his dad were going to do gardening. They got out the gardening tools–a spade to dig the soil, a hoe and a rake to level the ground. Once, they had completed the groundwork, Adam’s father asked him, “What vegetables do you like?” Adam replied, “Peas and carrots are my favourite.” They also went and bought other vegetable seeds. Soon, they started the planting process. First, they made long straight lines for sowing the seeds. After that, they sowed the seeds. Then Adam’s father explained to Adam about the different vegetables. He said to Adam, “Potatoes and carrots are root vegetables as they grow beneath the soil. Lettuce, cabbage and peas grow above the ground.” But Adam was bothered by only one question. He asked his father, “When can we have vegetable soup?”
