They live in the Northern parts of Africa in rocky deserts. There are five living different species of gundis. They are between 17-18 cm in length, with soft brown fur, short limbs and tails and large eyes. They live in colonies of around a hundred, but in cases where enough food is not available, the colonies can be much smaller.
