Bheem was very proud of his strength. So with a smirk on his face, he bent down to remove the old monkey’s tail from the path. But however hard he tried, he could not move it–not even a little bit! Finally, he gave up. It suddenly dawned on Bheem that he was not dealing with an ordinary monkey. He fell at the monkey’s feet and said, “O mighty one! I accept defeat. May I know who you are? Please forgive me for losing my temper, and reveal your real identity.” Hanuman stood up in his original form and said, “Bheem, I am Hanuman whom you mentioned a little while ago. You are my brother. I sat here so that I might warn you about the tough path ahead. You have to be very careful and patient to reach the pond where the Saugandhika flowers are growing. I shall show you the pond.”
