Seeing the security arrangements in Lanka, Hanuman took the form of a mosquito and flew towards Lanka. But he was stopped by Lankini, a demoness, who used to guard the city. Hanuman gave her one blow, with which she fell down and vomited out blood. Then Hanuman searched each and every palace in Lanka, but he could not find Sita. Furthermore, he met Ravana’s brother Vibhishan who was a devotee of Rama. He told Hanuman that Sita was in Ashokavan. Hanuman met Sita and gave her Rama’s ring. Sita happily blessed Hanuman. Hanuman then created havoc by breaking all the flowers, uprooting trees and even killing a few of Ravana’s soldiers. The news soon reached Ravana. He sent his fighters to kill Hanuman but Hanuman defeated them. Then Ravana sent his son Akshaykumar who was also killed by Hanuman. Hearing about the death of his son Akshaykumar, Ravan sent his son Meghnath and told him to bring Hanuman to the court. Meghnath went to Ashokavan and tried his Brahmapasha on Hanuman. Hanuman willingly got himself tied in it; otherwise, it would have been a disrespect towards Lord Brahma. He was thus taken prisoner and carried to Ravana.
