Hanuman jumped into the sea to extinguish the fire on his tail. Suddenly, he remembered about Mother Sita. In his excitement to teach Ravan a lesson for his misconduct, he had forgotten about her safety! He immediately rushed back to Ashok Vatika to find Sita safe. He touched her feet and said, “Mother, I am leaving. Can you give me something that I can show Lord Ram as a proof that I met you?” Sita took off a gem she wore in her hair and gave it to Hanuman. He assured Sita that Lord Ram would soon come there and rescue her. Hanuman then flew back to Angad, Jambvan and the others who were anxiously awaiting his return. They gathered around Hanuman and heard his adventures in Lanka with great joy. All of them then resumed their journey to tell Ram and Lakshman about Sita’s whereabouts and chalk out plans to rescue her.
