Hanuman had to face several hurdles while crossing the ocean, but he tackled every crisis intelligently. Soon, he saw the island of Lanka and descended on the top of a hill. He then took a look at the city and was captivated by its beauty. Hanuman waited till sunset. He then adopted the form of a small monkey and went into the city. When he was about to cross the entrance gate, an ugly demoness named Lankini saw him and appeared before him. “Stop there! Who are you? Where have you come from? A stranger cannot enter this land without my permission!” Hanuman ignored Lankini and kept going. Lankini shouted, “You horrible creature! Stop right there! If you disobey my orders, I will eat you up!” She then charged ahead to grab Hanuman, who had turned into a small monkey to enter Lanka. But Hanuman was not scared at all!
