Hatim was about to explore the demon town when he was captured and taken to the demon chief. The chief said in a sad voice, “Why have you brought him here? Let him go wherever he wishes to!” When Hatim heard the pain in chief’s voice, his heart was moved with pity; he said to the chief, “Why are you sad?” The demon chief replied, “My wife is tormented by the pain in her eyes. She cannot be cured. I am sad to see her in so much pain.” “I will cure her,” said Hatim, “but then you must take me to your king.” The Chief agreed. Hatim had a magic pearl that cured all sickness. He applied it on the eyes of the chief’s wife and she was cured. Tears of gratitude fell down from the eyes of both the chief and his wife. The chief then took Hatim to the King, as promised.
