One evening, while Hatim was resting under the shade of a tree, he heard the sounds of someone crying. The cry was so heart-wrenching that Hatim could not rest any more. He thought to himself, ‘How can I rest after hearing such a painful cry?’ So, he walked in the direction from where the sound was coming. There, he saw a young man lying on the ground and crying, “What should I do? How will this pain go?” Hatim sat next to him and said, “Who are you, my friend? What is your pain? I shall help you.” The young man said, “I am a merchant and no one can help me! It’s the pain of love that has struck me.” Hatim’s tender heart did not allow him to leave the distressed merchant and continue his journey. So, he decided to solve his problem first and then move ahead.
