About 3 mm long, the head lice are wingless and generally grey in colour. They are known to reside for their entire life on human scalp. Their diet consists solely of human blood. Once they feed, they turn a reddish brown colour. This insect is oviparous in nature, and the female lays about 3-4 eggs a day. These eggs are attached to the hair shaft.
