Garlic pods fall into the category of malignant foods. Reason being that savouring it jolts and stimulates a person. Yet, there is little left to taste if cuisine is devoid of garlic. That apart, garlic is an excellent alround medicine. For instance :
- Peel off skin from pods of a garlic bulb and pool them in 100 gms of mustard oil, and heat on low flame. When pods turn black, separate oil through sieve and store it in a separate bottle. Massage this oil into head scalp after washing your hair each evening. Thereafter wrap hair in knot and go to sleep. On this regimen, falling of hair will stop in a matter of 15 to 20 days.
- Mix extracts of garlic and lemon in equal parts, massage them into hair roots and let dry. Within two hours you would be free of entire lice infestation.
- Garlic is superb in relieving pain of gout. For this, boil 15-16 pods in 250 ml. of cow’s milk, filter, and drink.
- All the same rub garlic oil on affected organ. For making this oil, use sesame oil as base. Apart from gout, this application is also useful in cough and colds, paralytic stroke, alzhemir’s disease etc.
- In stomach gas, indigestion, and lack of appetite—chew 4-6 garlic leaves with thorough mastication. You’ll get instant relief.
- A spoonful of garlic extract subdues bouts of severe vomiting with immidiate effect.
- If constipated, take garlic tea (without sugar) early in the morning. To make this tea add a little of gur in a cup of hot water. This will also relieve bad belching and gas formation.
- If any part of body is depigmented (white spots), make a fine paste of garlic and mix it in 4 times its volume of good vaseline. Apply this ointment 2-3 times per day on the white spot.
- In sprains and injuries applying a poultice of garlic and turmeric on affected part gives instant relief.
- Consuming 5-6 garlic pods each day can cure tuberculosis permanently. Reason being that its rich sulphuric acid content kills germs responsible for this infectious disease.
- Cholesterol is enemy No.1 for heart. It layers up on inner lining of blood vessels, retarding the flow of blood through them. Excessive deposits of cholesterol may choke blood channels completely, leading to heart attack.
- Since garlic contains suplhur in good amounts, it can flush clean cholesterol deposits from body. Hence it is advisable to chew 5-6 garlic pods every morning. This will remove cholesterol deposits and throw them out.
- To jettison obesity, eat raw garlic pods every morning and evening, with a glass of lukewarm water.
- Patient of diabetes should make garlic a habit. It will check loss of sugar through urinary secretions to a great extent.
- Put a few drops of garlic juice in mouth of a person passing through epileptic fits. The patient will regain consciousness without loss of time.
- Post partum if a woman suffers from fever or pain, she will benefit by taking two pods of garlic once a day, either morning or in the evening.

Dyspepsia
