Helen enjoyed cooking. She loved to watch her momma make the varieties of dishes. She was a little girl. So, her mother admonished her to keep away from fire. But her elder brother, Patric, encouraged her to experiment with cooking. One day, Helen found a red pot in the attic of her new house. She ran down with the pot to show it to her brother. “Isn’t it beautiful?” asked Helen. Patric and Helen took the pot out into the garden. They then gathered some bricks, placed some twigs in between and lit a small fire. They filled the pot with water and placed it on the hearth. For fun they dropped some carrots and beetroots into the water and a pinch of salt. Once the water boiled, Patric tasted it. It tasted lovely! The children then spent the whole summer preparing soup in their little red pot.
